Tygart Technology is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator (SME) to support a mission-critical program for a Department of Justice (DOJ) component. This is a remote position, but the ideal candidate will be located near Clarksburg, WV to accommodate potential onsite activities. The SME will play a key role in the design, performance, security, and growth of enterprise systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and resolve complex system issues through in-depth analysis and creative problem-solving.
• Contribute to the design and deployment of new system architectures, including server environments, data storage, and network topologies.
• Monitor system performance metrics, identify bottlenecks, and optimize for performance and high availability.
• Implement and maintain robust cybersecurity measures, manage user access controls, and monitor for emerging cyber threats.
• Plan for system scalability and infrastructure growth, including hardware upgrades and cloud integration.
• Provide mentoring, training, and technical leadership to fellow system administrators.
Required Qualifications:
• Current Top Secret security clearance
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience with enterprise network/system administration tools.
• Deep understanding of operating systems, network protocols, cybersecurity practices, and cloud technologies.
• Expert-level experience with Linux, including system configuration, shell scripting, and package management.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related services.
• Solid hands-on experience with AWS and Azure, including cloud security, provisioning, and automation.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, firewalls, routing protocols, and network security.
• Experience supporting or working within an Agile organization using frameworks like Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, or SAFe.
