Description
Leidos is seeking Structural Engineer to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) Team, providing support to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Infrastructure Engineering Center.
Location: Des Plaines, IL
Travel: 25% to 35%
Structural Engineer Primary Responsibilities:
Structural Engineer Required Qualifications:
- Civil Engineering Degree (B.S.) or similar + 4 or more years with Structural Engineering Design and experience with tower, shelter, and similar structure projects. OR a Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability
- Knowledge of multiple of the following, Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities:

Targeted salary will be $100,000.00 - $110,00.00, based on experience.

Leidos is seeking Structural Engineer to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) Team, providing support to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Infrastructure Engineering Center.

Travel: 25% to 35%
Structural Engineer Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to the Infrastructure Engineering Center, for accomplishment of project engineering packages.
- Prepare summary trip reports within two working days of trip completion.
- Compile and complete project documents.
- Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects (i.e. evaluate shop drawings, design proposals, and interpret the technical requirements for adherence to contract documents).
- Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on all assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on all items relating to engineering.
- Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit.
- Provide technical input to the Government Technical Interpreter in actions to plan, budget, program, and coordinate the development of engineering projects.
- Develop project drawings in accordance with the FAA Standard/guidelines.
Structural Engineer Required Qualifications:

- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability
- Knowledge of multiple of the following, Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities:
- Metal equipment towers
- Commercial/Industrial Structures
- Roof Replacements
- Emergency and battery backup systems (Small Engine Generators and/or Battery Backup Systems)
- Small HVAC systems
- Remote site work
- Road design
- Concrete
- Site grading
- Equipment shelters
- Concrete foundations
- Structural
- Environmental permitting (NEPA, ARAP, stormwater, etc)
- Lightning protection and grounding
- Hazmat (Pb, Asbestos) abatement
- Construction risk management
- Software: (Project management software (CWP, Primavera, Microsoft project, etc) and/ or Computer aided design (AutoCAD, Microstation)
- Utility layout design: water, power, comm, sewer
Structural Engineer Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in AUTOCAD.
- Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Tower (NASET).
- Knowledge of National Airspace System Equipment Building (NASEB).
- Knowledge of Corporate Work Plan (CWP) 4.1.12.
- Knowledge of Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), fire detection, security, site work.
