Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a Program Manager 1 for our Sentinel Program Leadership Team to support the Sentinel (was Ground Based Strategic Deterrent) program in our Propulsion Systems Business Unit at our Promontory, UT campus.

Roles and Responsibilities:
This Sentinel Program Manager will be supporting the development, manufacturing and test of two new medium-class solid propulsion rocket motors (SRMs) in support of the Northrop Grumman Sentinel prime contract. This Position includes providing support and leadership to matrixed and multi-disciplined teams. Emphasis will initially be Insulated Case development effort execution on the program, with opportunities to grow in responsibilities in the Sentinel Program Management Office over time.
This manager will work closely with the program team leadership and team members to execute design, procurement, and manufacturing activities at Propulsion Systems. This position includes interfacing with VSET (Value Stream Element Team) leads and shares accountability for safety, quality, schedule, cost and technical execution.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Salary Range: $112,200.00 - $168,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

- Service the customer (executing the program and resolving issues in accordance with business objectives, strategy, legal requirements, regulations, contract terms, and company policies)
- Manage change in customer requirements on the program
- Balance the interests of the customer, Propulsion Systems and employees
Program Team Management
- Assist the Program in the management of the program team (to include coaching team members, resolving conflict, reviewing performance, and initiating corrective actions, if necessary)
- Lead a multi-discipline, multi-faceted team to successful performance
- Direct the performance of program functions (such as contract, finance, and operations) as needed in execution of program tasks
- Possess the proven ability to provide verbal and written information clearly, succinctly, and persuasively
- Set role and performance expectations, and provide ongoing feedback and performance appraisals
- Support the program plan to meet critical milestones
- Manage master program plans and schedules (identifying and assessing risks, and initiating necessary corrective action)
- Understand how to work with VSET leads to achieve program goals
- Understand NGC Propulsion Systems Division systems to track work progress and tear down roadblocks to keep program moving forward
Schedule Management
- Understanding of the program IMS and how that interfaces with operations to meet critical milestones
- Support performance to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and critical milestones
- Ensure that the programs/projects are on schedule to the program milestones
Financial Performance
- Manage budgets and update monthly performance review for program leadership and the customer
- Present performance to management
- Forecast financial performance
- Work with VSET to meet program cost goals
Contract Structure & Pricing
- Assist in contract negotiations, endorse final price and contract terms and help resolve contract issues as needed
- Facilitate generation of contract change estimates and proposals in response to customer and program needs
Technical Performance
- Drive technical excellence (by setting program standards, working closely with technical team, balancing risk, and delivering performance)
Business Development
- Execute successfully to develop Propulsion System's image of delivering on-time and on-cost
- Leverage existing scope to expand to and win new content
Basic Qualification:
- Bachelors in technical degree like engineering, chemistry, physics, etc. (preferred) or Business with 5 years' experience or master's degree with 3 years' experience or 0 years' experience with PhD.
Required Qualification:
- Five (5) plus years' experience in leading organizations with multiple disciplines
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve single objective
- Successfully managed $5M+ in sales annually
- Successful applicant must be a U.S. citizen and have a Secret security clearance, or ability to obtain one
Preferred Qualifications:
- A thorough knowledge of insulated case design, development, and manufacturing
- In-depth understanding of customer requirements, both technically and financially, to ensure customer needs are met
- Relevant experience at various levels of responsibility
- Successfully managed $10M - $50M in sales annually (preferred)
- Master's degree in engineering, Finance or Business Administration

- Successful candidate must be able to pass a background check for the Federal Safe Explosives Act (SEA)
