Madison Associates Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Data Scientist in Alexandria/Springfield, VA. This role offers both onsite and telework opportunities.
About Madison Associates Inc: Madison Associates Inc. is a law enforcement services firm that provides technical advice and assistance to governments, enforcement agencies, and private companies. Our expertise includes forensic accounting, financial crime, money laundering, corruption, asset forfeiture, and business monitoring.
Roles and Responsibilities: The Madison Data Scientist will assist a federal law enforcement agency in detecting domestic and international fraud schemes committed against the agency’s programs and to identify leads on criminal investigations. This assistance will further include applying algorithms to large and complex data sets through machine learning techniques. Datasets include but are not limited to law enforcement data, internal payment records, procurement data, financial records, and other external data sources. Work products include concise written summaries and visualizations of findings. Visualizations will include but are not limited to link analysis, bar and pie charts, and geospatial analysis. The candidate must process clear presentation skills as findings will be presented to criminal investigators, agency management, and prosecutors. The candidate will also provide input on search and seizure affidavits and subpoenas based on their analytical findings.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Five years’ experience as a data scientist with an emphasis on detecting fraudulent behavior and patterns.
• Direct hands-on experience analyzing large and complex datasets.
• Proficient in SQL, SAS, i2 Analyst’s Notebook, Centrifuge, R, Python, Neo4j, Tableau, and other data analytics tools.
