Systems Engineer

About the Role:
Aquila is seeking a Software Engineer t o join our team in supporting one of the country's premier defense research organizations. The Software Engineer will will implement various algorithms designed by our customer and interface to existing radio systems. The work requires strong C++ experience, network emulation experience, and the ability to work with and interface with hardware.

Strong C++ development skills to include C++11/14, Standard Template Library (STL), and modern best practices Strong network socket programming experience Strong experience with link/MAC and network protocols Ability to operate in a rapid-development environment Experience with interfacing with DoD radio systems

Location: This position will be a hybrid in terms of onsite vs offsite work. The persons should be local to MA for the start of the position and should expect to be onsite approximately 50% of the time.
Clearance Level: Interim is sufficient for the start of this position. Interview process will likely be 2 rounds of interviews. - Must be US Citizen

- Must be a U.S Citizen- Must be able to obtain a Active Secret Clearance (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify)
- Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance. (Aquila would sponsor you for the security clearance.)
- Must be within 100 miles from Lexington, MA
Must Have
- Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years - Experience interfacing and/or operating DoD radio systems
- 3 years - Networks
- 3 years - Background with Link Layer/Mac protocols
- 7 years - Network socket programming experience
- 10 years - Programming
- 10 years - C++11 or later, Stand Template Library, Boost library
- 10 years - Development experience on a Linux platform
- 5 years - Programming in a rapid-development environment
