Unissant is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to join our team in Ashburn, Virginia.
Qualified applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information. This is a highly technical position; individuals will be screened by peers in a technical review of skills and experience. This is a multi-year contract to support the ongoing modernization and maintenance of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) information systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Evaluate, recommend, and implement automation test tools and strategies.
Design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure system requirements are met.
Develop, maintain, and upgrade automated test scripts and architectures for application products.
Write, implement, and report status for system test cases for testing.
Analyze test cases and provide regular progress reports.
Work closely with project managers and developers and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Serve as a specialist, providing testing know-how for the support of user requirements of complex to highly complex software/hardware applications.
Direct and/or participate in all phases of risk management assessments and software/hardware development with emphasis on analysis of user requirements, test design and test tools selection.
Use modern software engineering tools and methodologies including Eclipse, and Atlassian Products (Jira, Confluence)
Work with users in an Agile development approach to understand requirements, then elicit feedback and refine solutions through demonstrations
Present the solution at formal and informal design reviews, and document the design according to the Government's system lifecycle methodology
Work Experience:
Five (5) or more years of specific testing experience required.
On-the-job experience in increasingly responsible positions as a tester for IT systems, with an emphasis on software, hardware, or network preferred
Experience working within an Agile/Scrum environment.
Demonstrated on-the-job experience conducting end-to-end testing of large or complex information systems.
Experience validating and verifying application and infrastructure requirements for performance, availability, stability, and efficiency.
Experience working within application development for federal sector projects is desirable.
Job Skills:
Knowledge of or experience with test engineering methodology
Knowledge and experience with automated testing tools.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Software Design, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related discipline desired
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
This federal program requires the candidates to be United States Citizen
Any related Certification on Testing is desired
Must have current CBP BI or have the ability to obtain DHS CBP clearance
Communication Skills:
Solid ability to interface, inspire and motivate at various levels of the organization.
Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals.
Demonstrated experience communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
Must work well in a matrixed team environment.
Travel:
No travel needed
Environmental Requirements:
Mainly sedentary; in an office environment
May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds
Flexible in working extended hours
