Job Summary:
TCS is seeking a qualified Engineering Technician IV to support the NAVAIR Crew Served Weapons In-Service Engineering Activity at NSWC Crane. This position will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for airborne crew served weapons, providing critical expertise on operational procedures and maintenance standards used by Navy and Marine Corps aviation units. The successful candidate will participate in maintenance, evaluation, and logistical support of crew served weapon systems and mounts.

Job Summary:
TCS is seeking a qualified Engineering Technician IV to support the NAVAIR Crew Served Weapons In-Service Engineering Activity at NSWC Crane. This position will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for airborne crew served weapons, providing critical expertise on operational procedures and maintenance standards used by Navy and Marine Corps aviation units. The successful candidate will participate in maintenance, evaluation, and logistical support of crew served weapon systems and mounts.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain airborne crew served weapons and mounts per NAVAIR technical publications.
- Perform live fire testing and evaluation on small arms weapon systems (7.62mm to .50 caliber).
- Provide operator and maintainer perspective on procedures used by Navy and Marine Corps aircrews.
- Assist in inventory management, repair parts tracking, and kit building.
- Receive, stock, and prepare materials and kits for shipment.
- Create and edit technical documentation using Microsoft Office.
- Convey technical instructions clearly and concisely.
- Collaborate with engineers, testers, and logistics personnel to support mission requirements.
- 5 years experience maintaining crew served weapons and mounts used on Navy/Marine Corps airborne platforms (e.g., UH-1, CH-53, V-22, MH-60).
- Experience providing training on the use and maintenance of crew served weapons strongly preferred.
- Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Familiarity with NAVAIR maintenance standards and procedures.
- Organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Candidate must be able to pass the Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives (AA&E) screening process
- Forklift license or certification.
- Prior explosive handling certification or willingness to obtain.
- Previous experience supporting live fire test and evaluation environments.
- Experience in warehouse, inventory, or material handling roles.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs to chest height.
- Must pass AA&E screening and be eligible for explosive handling certification.
- Ability to work in a physically active, hands-on environment.
Up to 10% CONUS travel may be required.
