SAIC is searching for a Systems Administrator to support one of the foundational networks in the Joint Expeditionary Command and Control (JEXC2) family of systems.JEXC2 systems are made up of various command, control, communications, computers and intelligence subsystems and networks, including associated infrastructure and communications equipment. The program is aimed at supporting the military's bid to achieve a Joint All-Domain Command and Control capability, which is the concept of connecting sensors across all domains, including space and cyberspace, into a single network.

Work will be performed onsite in Panama City Beach, FL. Local candidates are encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows Server and Red Hat systems administration. The candidate will join an existing team of Tier III admins who maintain the operational state of numerous classified virtual networks. This role provides remote IT support to the military and contractors utilizing the JEXC2 Family of Systems (FoS) and occasional on-site support at locations both CONUS and OCONUS. Work hours in excess of 40 hours per week per person may be required for customer support, and an alternate work schedule may be required at times to support overseas operations. Typical core hours are 0800 to 1700.

Responsibilities:
  • Create, troubleshoot, and deploy Ansible playbooks to provision/configure virtual machines and to implement DoD STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) policies.
  • Support and resolve escalated trouble tickets. Must have ability to follow-up with users on tickets with focus on "problem fully solved from user perspective" versus solving the narrow underlying root cause.
  • Perform regular software patching across the VMware virtualized environment.
  • Support test events (SITs) in lab development/sustainment systems including running test suites/test cards, writing/updating/redlining existing test documentation, resolving test event trouble tickets.
  • Ability to answer software data calls from leadership and assist in program office data calls (capacity, licensing, annual renewals for warranties/licensing).
  • Identify opportunities for automation and implement them.
  • Create and maintain technical procedures, operational guides and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' and 2 years of experience is required; a minimum 5 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • DoD 8570 Baseline Cybersecurity Certification such as CompTIA Security+ (must have prior to hire)
  • IAT Level II or above certification in addition to baseline cyber certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (an Interim Secret clearance must be obtained or currently active in order to begin work on this program).
  • Strong background in Red Hat Enterprise Linux configuration and administration.
  • 2+ years experience with creating PowerShell scripts and Ansible playbooks.
  • Understanding of Activy Directory, Group Policy, and other Windows Roles and Features related to Enterprise services.
  • Experience with virtualization, i.e. VMware and ESXi.
  • Prior experience in a Tier 2 or 3 Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Experience working in Agile methodology workflow is preferred.
  • Familiarity with containerization is a plus.
