Facilities Cost Estimator
Seeking a top-notch Facilities Cost Estimator to join our talented team. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph and is located in Chantilly, VA. This position is responsible for providing cost estimating expertise for the client’s global facilities portfolio.
As the program Cost Estimator, you will provide both design and construction cost estimates as well as work with the Project Managers around the world and the client on improving the cost estimating process across the program.
Cost estimator responsibilities include:
• Coordinate with the Project Managers to ensure all projects receive an independent cost estimate and any gaps are corrected, understood, and documented.
• Determine the best method for providing the cost estimates.
• Provide recommendations on acquisition strategy and project execution if that would improve cost.
• Review and provide comments on project documentation (SOWs, design drawings, etc.) to ensure the client receives the best product possible.
• Identify areas of improvement and move to correct them.
Qualifications
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of demonstrated experience.
o Note: Related professional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• 2+ years of experience using RS Means.
• Demonstrated experience estimating the cost of designs and construction efforts ranging from $1M to $100M+, from recapitalization to new construction.
• Knowledge of facility operations & maintenance and construction activities and procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated track record of adhering to tight schedules with the ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple and competing resources.
• Willing to take the initiative and work to correct areas of improvement.
Desired Qualifications:
• Familiarity with facility electrical and mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with the client.
• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Architectural Field.
• Experience with MS Project or equivalent scheduling tool.
