Program Overview

Supports the transformation and modernization of legacy Coast Guard systems and services including mobility, messaging, ITSM, ITAM, Network Infrastructure, and legacy data systems from on premise implementations to cloud and hybrid cloud solutions. New system and service implementations, including zero trust architecture, to provide leading edge systems that are both secure and accessible.

About The Role

Peraton is seeking a Systems Storage Administration Advisor to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position can be worked remotely. The qualified candidate will become part of Peraton's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) Program, for the US Coast Guard (CG). This initiative is modernizing and consolidating the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CGs customers.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities will include:

  • Provides technical oversight of hardware and software systems, with a focus on Storage Area Network engineering.
  • Provide professional service within the parameters specified in the site's service level agreement and/or that meet or exceed the customer requirements.
  • Ensure system security in compliance with customer policy including patching and auditing.
  • Implement and maintain network standards and guidelines. Design and review reliable backup and recovery capabilities.
  • Develop and an automated environment including reporting, event notifications and actions, software updates and service packs.
  • Monitor system utilization including data storage management, performance metrics and service levels.
  • Report on capacity and do proactive planning for capacity.
  • Coordinate and communicate activities, status updates, outage notifications and schedule information.
  • Perform account maintenance.
  • Ensure reliable backup and recovery of necessary data.
  • Software installations/upgrades.
  • Patching and IAVA compliance.
  • Maintain and document SAN cabling plans
  • Install, configure, administer and optimize servers (hardware and operating systems).
  • Interface with users is an integral part of this role.
  • Maintain network system documentation.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to develop roadmap and modernization efforts.
  • Proficient in cloud storage technologies.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering or related field and 8 years experience or high school diploma/equivalent and 12 years relevant experience.
  • Must have experience with backup software technologies (CommVault, NetApp)
  • Must have experience with storage hardware technologies
  • Must have experience with SAN fabric technologies
  • Knowledge of iSCSI and Fiber Channel infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience with ticketing systems and incident management in a large Windows-based environment
  • Demonstrated experience with collecting and reporting ticket metrics
  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with customer senior leadership
  • U.S. Citizenship required; must have active Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with DOD IT security requirements

SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range

Details

Target Salary Range: $104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
