Description:
Position includes installing and maintaining communications equipment in support of the National Military Command Center. Technician will troubleshoot, repair and install standard audio-visual equipment, Satcom and line-of site radio systems, television production equipment and other communications and IT systems. Technician should be familiar with video switchers and video routers, video walls, conference room and auditorium a/v equipment, Crestron control systems and touch panels, Tandberg and Polycom VTC equipment, Satcom and Line of Site Radio systems. Experience installing and terminating video, audio and control systems and television production systems.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have minimum of 3 years of AV systems implementation
Must be able to install AV systems according to systems documentation adhering to industry standards and best-practices
Maintain accurate as-built documentation of systems installations
Provide field-support for service tickets as needed
Ability to read and understand project drawings and schematics, engineering notes, and operation manuals
Experienced with the installation of AV systems and equipment including flat-panel displays, control systems, AV signal routing, processing equipment and various audio equipment
Ability to fabricate cable and test equipment racks and cabinets
Demonstrate effective communication skills using tact and courtesy along with the ability to handle pressure sensitive situations
Ability to properly and safely use/operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic test • equipment
Demonstrated ability to work with and without direct supervision
Good interpersonal and time management skills
Must be detail oriented, with the ability to multi-task and handle deadlines and tight timelines
Be able to perform installations and or fixes where working on a ladder or under floors in crawl spaces may be required
Able to lift and carry items for periods of time that may exceed 50+ lbs
Nice to Have:
Industry Certifications: Certifications such as Info Comm / Avixa CTS, Crestron, Extron, Polycom or Biamp are desired, but not a requirement for this position.
