Country Intelligence Group is seeking a Full-Time Cloud Application Developer (Software Engineer) to support our client on-site at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud-based applications.
This role requires strong experience with cloud platforms, especially Amazon Web Services (AWS) as well as expertise in back-end programming, containerization, and modern software development practices.
The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative mindset, a problem-solving orientation, and a commitment to developing mission-aligned cloud solutions.
The position involves daily interaction with cross-functional teams and hands-on development of microservices, server-less architecture, and integrations across hybrid environments.
Tasks Performed:
• Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based applications based on mission requirements.
• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using Java, Python, PHP, or similar programming languages.
• Utilize cloud-native development tools and technologies to implement effective and secure solutions.
• Collaborate with system engineers, software architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and quality.
• Integrate cloud applications with both cloud-native and on-premises systems.
• Ensure application performance, availability, and scalability, while adhering to best practices in code quality and architecture.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and reliability in cloud environments.
• Identify and resolve functional and performance issues across deployed applications.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging cloud technologies, and frameworks.
• Provide technical support and training to users for newly developed or maintained applications.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience developing server-less and microservice-based cloud applications on AWS.
• Proficiency in back-end languages such as Java, Python, and PHP.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks, such as Angular, React, or Node.js.
• Familiarity with databases such as MySQL and MongoDB, and web servers like Nginx or Apache.
• Experience developing within a Kubernetes environment.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. (Preferred)
• Understanding of DevOps practices and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. (Preferred)
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and relevant compliance standards. (Preferred)
