Must Haves:

• Metallurgical and electronic component cross-sectioning and polishing including sample preparation, potting, etching, and microscopy. (at least 2 + years of prior experience)
• General lab testing skills
• Competency in MS Office Suite and proficiency in documenting procedures
• Attention to details and accuracy
• Good communication skills

Nice To Haves:

• Adhesive bonding including surface preparation, cleaning, chemical etch, and priming.
• Knowledge of machining operations
• Proficiency maintaining and troubleshooting laboratory equipment

Job Description:
Engineering Support Technician qualified to develop and execute specialty material processes and support evaluation and testing of metallic, non-metallic, and composite materials used in Aerospace and Defense programs

Essential Functions:

• Work with Materials & Processes engineers to develop and perform destructive and non-destructive techniques which include material property testing, analytical methods, failure analysis, and surface preparation
• Responsibilities include interfacing with internal customers to assist in the selection, evaluation, and application of numerous materials and processes relevant to the technical activities of
• Work is hands-on in a lab environment involving manufacturing process development of structural/non-structural bonding, coating, molding applications
• Metallurgical and electronic component cross-sectioning and polishing including sample preparation, potting, etching, and microscopy.
• Adhesive bonding including surface preparation, cleaning, chemical etch, and priming.
• Over molding and potting for cables. Design of molds.
• Drawing interpretation per ASME Y14.100
• Working with internal customer teams in a development lab and development type environment
• Working with minimal supervision and high degree of initiative
• Working with and around hazardous chemicals
• Assisting in routine laboratory operations

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum of 6 years industry experience in a laboratory environment or associate's degree with 2 years industry experience.
• Highly skilled at cross-sectioning, polishing, surface preparation, chemical etch, and priming
• Competency in MS Office Suite and proficiency in documenting procedures
