Warrant Technologies is seeking an experienced Engineer, Computer IV (CWF) to serve as a key contributor to ongoing efforts supporting NSWC Crane in a hybrid role between CTR Facility and on-site at Crane. This position focuses on architecting, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable systems for test and development environments that support Department of Defense (DoD) Command and Control, Sensor, and Cybersecurity initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring over a decade of technical experience across systems engineering, infrastructure automation, network design, virtualization, containerization, and security hardening—playing a vital role in ensuring mission readiness and technical excellence in support of national defense initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Architect and maintain DoD lab environments supporting R&D and field testing of Command and Control systems.
· Design and implement secure CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, and Git to streamline system testing and software delivery.
· Develop and manage Kubernetes- and Docker-based microservices infrastructure for containerized applications across hybrid networks.
· Build and deploy virtualized environments (ESXi, VMware Workstation, RHEL, Ubuntu) with automated provisioning using PXE boot, DHCP, and Kickstart.
· Integrate and configure network hardware (Cisco, Mikrotik) to support redundant connectivity, VPN (OpenVPN/L2TP/IPsec), and routing failover solutions.
· Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) repositories and workflows for services like BIND DNS, Prometheus, Grafana, and other custom tools.
· Secure systems using DoD-compliant practices, including implementation of STIGs, HBSS, ACAS/Nessus, and endpoint protection tools.
· Support integration testing with government and contractor teams and contribute to after-action reviews and capability demonstrations.
· Mentor junior staff and collaborate closely with software, cybersecurity, and network teams to ensure seamless end-to-end system integration.
Qualifications:
· Education:
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely aligned discipline.
· Experience:
10+ years in systems engineering, DevOps, or network engineering in support of DoD environments.
Demonstrated experience with tools including Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and ESXi.
Strong understanding of networking concepts including VLANs, subnets, NAT, routing protocols, and VPNs.
Proven track record building secure, automated lab environments and pipelines that support rapid prototyping and validation of new technologies.
Familiarity with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and ATO requirements is highly desirable.
Requirements:
· Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required.
· Work Arrangement: Hybrid position requiring on-site work at CTR Facility and Crane, with flexibility for remote tasks as needed.
· Strong communication and documentation skills with the ability to support cross-functional teams and present technical solutions to stakeholders.
· Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and adapt in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
