Kadiak, a Koniag Government Services company, is hiring a highly qualified Linux Administrator to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are a member of a Federally Recognized Native American Tribe. Position requires U. S. Citizenship .

Summary:

The Linux Administrator is responsible for the Linux environments that support day-to-day operations at IHS. The position will provide customer technical guidance and leadership on configuration and maintenance of the already existing Linux environments. The individual in the position will need to be proficient in both Windows and Linux Server Administration.

Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities as the Linux Administrator include the following.

• SME for all Linux Administration (Multiple Distros/Appliances).
• Maintain current Oracle Linux Environment.
• Maintain Oracle Linux Patching.
• Maintain Oracle Linux VM Templates.
• Required to work with VMware vCenter, VMware Aria Operations integrated with VMware Aria Operations for Logs, VMware Aria Automation Assist with patching and maintaining existing VMware environment.
• Maintain ESXi and vCenter hosts and virtual machines already hosted in the existing environments.
• Maintain F5 Big-IP LTM Load Balancing Administration and Patching.
• Maintain system, security, implementation, best practice, run books, operational, end user training, and network documentation.
• Coordinate activities to support the virtualization environment with the various teams.
• Develop and maintain test scripts and ensure proper execution of all scripts.
• Document test results in the proper log and/or tracking systems.
• Ensure that all documentation on processes and procedures is available and updated regularly.
• Ensure that test designs and documentation support selected client, agency or industry standards and timelines.
• Execute defined test cases and procedures as detailed in the test documentation.
• Formulate and define specifications for operating system applications or modify and maintain existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer.
• Implement pilot projects based on VMware technologies (VCF, NSX).
• Integrate hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) into the existing and new environments.
• Perform a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities independently.
• Provide reporting on an ad-hoc basis for the environment and duties.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Enterprise Linux Administration.
• Multiple years of active delivery of IT projects based on VMware technologies.
• Relevant experience, including customer-facing and IT consulting, with Public Sector customers.
• Strong documentation and technical writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and/or collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent and confident communications and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient organizational skills.
• A high level of energy and enthusiasm.
• Able to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance.

Certifications and Education:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree or demonstrated relevant equivalent experience.
• Desired industry certifications from vendors such as Cisco, EMC, Citrix, AWS, CompTIA, and Microsoft are a plus.
• Desired ITIL Foundation certification.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Experience 10 years in information technology engineering, 4 years of which should be related to supporting Linux.
• Experience delivering on infrastructure automation, hybrid cloud implementation, server and desktop virtualization, server consolidation.
• Experience with Linux Scripting.
• Experience with storage area networks, network attached storage, and hyper converged storage (vSAN).
• Knowledge of modern software development methodologies such as DevOps, Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean.
• Project management experience and familiarity.
• Adapt to quickly changing priorities.
• Customer service skills and excellent communication skills (verbal, presentation, and written).
• Positive customer service attitude.
• Proactive approach to problem solving.
• Strong documentation, diagramming, and reporting skills.

Office Location and Travel:

Albuquerque, New Mexico. No travel is required.

Clearance Requirement:

U. S. Citizen with ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
