Your Role

We seek an experienced Accounting Manager to supervise, track, and evaluate our day-to-day accounting activities. In this role, you will establish and maintain our financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information. You will work closely with the Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer to ensure our financial processes meet the highest standards of accuracy and compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage daily operations of the accounting department, including:
Month-end and year-end processes
Accounts payable and receivable
Weekly payables and cash receipts
General ledger management
Payroll administration
Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
Capital assets reconciliations
Debt activity tracking
Oversee the production of periodic financial reports
Ensure all reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or other applicable financial reporting standards
Audit accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary information for the annual external audit
Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal government requirements
Present recommendations to management regarding short- and long-term financial objectives and policies
Assign projects and direct staff to ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial activities
Review cost pools and monitor variances from provisional rates
Ensure compliance with ICS reporting
Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s degree preferred)
CPA and/or CMA certification highly desired
7-10+ years of experience in Government Contracting Accounting
Proven experience with percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and a solid understanding of ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
Advanced computer skills with proficiency in MS Office
Experience with accounting software; familiarity with Unanet or Deltek is preferred.
Ability to manipulate and analyze large amounts of data
Detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy
Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct and supervise a team
Excellent organizational and time management skills
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations
