Country Intelligence Group is seeking a Full-Time System Engineer to support our client in Chantilly, Virginia.

The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, integrating, and maintaining infrastructure solutions that support secure online operations.

This role includes evaluating and integrating emerging technologies, updating operational guidance, and ensuring that enhancements align with the organization’s Risk Management Framework (RMF).

The engineer will be expected to maintain operational continuity while helping the Sponsor evolve its technical baseline to keep pace with global technological trends.


Tasks Performed:

• Deliver and integrate new technical solutions to support secure and evolving online operations

• Design, configure, build, and maintain infrastructure and system components that align with current and future operational needs

• Research and develop new technologies and tradecraft for secure online operations

• Conduct technical assessments and document security implications of new technologies

• Integrate new services into an existing system baseline with minimal disruption

• Maintain detailed architecture documentation and interface definitions

• Apply cybersecurity best practices in accordance with the Sponsor’s Risk Management Framework (RMF)

• Collaborate across organizational boundaries, including coordinating technical exchange meetings, stakeholder engagements, and user feedback sessions

• Track and manage requirements, tasks, and issues using Sponsor-approved systems

• Support technical troubleshooting, system upgrades, and solution enhancements to meet evolving mission requirements


Education, Experience and Qualifications:

• Evaluating and integrating new technologies into existing environments

• Developing technical test and integration plans for new systems and components

• Designing and maintaining network and system architectures

• Experience with Virtual Private Servers (VPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs)

• Familiarity with virtual environments and emulated mobile device testing

• Deep understanding of Android operating systems, including security settings

• Experience evaluating the security implications of social media platforms and messaging applications

• Technical analysis of networks and applications for online security operations

• Knowledge of browser security configurations, including add-ons and extensions

• Experience in network, internet services, and mobile application troubleshooting

• Client consulting experience to determine present and future requirements

• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Strong background in defining, tracking, and analyzing technical requirements

• Experience with cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure (Preferred)

• Familiarity with network monitoring tools (Preferred)

• Understanding of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and EtherChannel (Preferred)

• Understanding of cloud networking architectures (Preferred)

• Experience using The Onion Router (Tor) for anonymized online activities

• Familiarity with internet encryption protocols (Preferred)

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline (Preferred)


Other Job Requirements:

• Minimum Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph

• U.S. Citizenship, and successful background check
