Job Description:
• We have an exciting opportunity for an SE-4 Acquisition Cybersecurity Test Engineer for the TMAS 2 96 CTG Task Order, supporting 48 CTS/TGE. Our Process and Policy Team is searching for new members that can help us provide cyber test planning support and conduct system security analysis on systems and/or software to understand and identify vulnerabilities. • We provide several opportunities to learn ranging from on-the-job training with other team members to formal courses in unique technology areas.
• We are looking for people that can bring a strong foundation in one of the listed areas and are motivated to learn the others. Position responsibilities can span program management to cybersecurity testing.
• This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge cyber test planning, vulnerability assessments, and systems analysis—all within a dynamic, mission-driven team. Help analyze and identify potential cyber risks with DoD systems currently in development, guide cyber test strategies, plans, and test teams, help develop DoD and Service-level cyber test policies and procedures, and develop system requirements for the next generation of national defense systems. Responsibilities:
• Execute test projects and program objectives with various DoD and federal agency customers
• Review technical documentation related to Avionics Embedded Systems and RF datalinks and identify potential design shortfalls that might result in a cybersecurity weakness
• Develop test corpus and test plans to validate the presence of weaknesses
• Analysis data from test events and present this data in a coherent and accurate manner for the customer
• Work with operational testers and pilots to identify vulnerabilities which might affect the cyber resiliency of the platform for a given mission
• Assist with developing cyber contested environments to demonstrate the resiliency of the platform under test
Required Qualifications / Skills:
• Master’s degree in technical discipline (Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems) or an engineering discipline (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering), and over 10 years of relevant technical experience in the field of cybersecurity, aircraft/weapons system, and/or IT systems. Active Secret clearance is required and must be able to obtain/maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
• Significant understanding of the DoD acquisition and/or test and evaluation processes/activities.
• Knowledge in planning and conducting test and evaluation activities.
• Analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organization, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Ability to work effectively in small and large team settings to solve complex problems.
• Must meet DOD Cyber Workforce Program education, training, or certification requirements IAW DOD 8140 Series manuals and AFMAN 17-1305 at the time of hire and maintain qualifications throughout employment.
Desired Qualifications / Skills:
• Experience in planning and conducting cyber test and evaluation
• Significant understanding of the DoD Cybersecurity Test and Evaluation Guidebook.
• Experience conducting Mission Based Cyber Risk Assessments (MBCRAs).
• Knowledge in the Cybersecurity Assess and Authorize (A&A) process to support DoD acquisition programs through the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
• Experience establishing cybersecurity guidelines and practices at the DoD or Service level.
• Proficient in software development.
• Understanding of network and/or systems security engineering.
