Head of AI and Data Solutions

Government Acquisitions Inc. (GAI) - is seeking a visionary and experienced data leader to build upon and lead our existing AI data practice. This is a high-impact role with the opportunity to shape how we leverage data and AI to solve critical challenges for our federal government customers. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of data ontology, AI/ML technologies, and the federal government landscape.

Job Description & Work Responsibilities (Tasks include but are not limited to the following):

  • Data Strategy & Ontology:
    • Define and implement a comprehensive data practice strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives and federal customer needs.
    • Develop and maintain a robust set of data ontology frameworks and partners that ensure data quality, consistency, and interoperability across all projects for our customers.
    • Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in data management, particularly within the context of AI and the federal government .
  • Team Leadership & Development:
    • Recruit, hire, and manage a team of talented data scientists, data engineers, and AI/ML specialists.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the data practice.
    • Work effectively cross functionally in the GAI organization with Sales, Bids and Proposals, Technical Services to achieve success.
    • Mentor and develop team members to enhance their skills and advance their careers.
  • Technology & Partnerships:
    • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and tools to support the data practice's work, including data platforms, AI/ML frameworks, and automation solutions.
    • Establish and manage strategic partnerships with Generative AI ISVs to enhance the practice's capabilities and offerings.
  • Business Development & Client Engagement:
    • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the data practice.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within federal government agencies.
    • Contribute to proposal development and client presentations to secure new business opportunities.
  • Develop Repeatable AI Services:
    • Identify and cultivate repeatable, sustainable AI professional services aligned with DoD CDAO and GAI's strategic goals and strategic partners + ISVs.
  • Enhance Internal Productivity:
    • Collaborate with the leadership team to deploy GenAI and Agentic AI tools across GAI, driving increased productivity for sales and operations team.
  • Deploy Scalable Solutions:
    • Partner with the CIO/CTO and GAI engineering team to drive implementation and usage of scalable, repeatable solutions in GAI's CyberCore AI Innovation Lab.
  • Pursue R&D Fundings:
    • Identify and secure AI opportunities through SBIRs, OTAs, and other R&D funding avenues to initiate pilot programs /POCs with federal agencies.
  • Integrate Emerging Technologies:
    • Demonstrate expertise in incorporating emerging technologies-such as ethical AI frameworks and next-generation ML tools-into scalable solutions


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or a related field
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in data management, data science, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Proven track record of building and leading successful go-to-market efforts and teams.
    • Deep understanding of data ontology principles and best practices.
    • Extensive experience working with federal government customers and familiarity with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Strong knowledge of AI/ML technologies and their applications in the federal sector.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • Proven ability to build consensus and drive results across cross-functional teams.


Additional Qualifications (preferred):

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with specific Generative AI technologies and their applications.
  • Active security clearance.
