Physical Security Specialist

Position Summary:

ANSER is seeking a Physical Security Specialist to support the Special Access Program (SAP) Information Technology (IT) program under the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role you will provide expertise and execute daily operations in accordance with physical security directives.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Manage SAP security daily operations, to include the transfer, storage, management, and destruction of SAP IT information.
• Manage, assess, and maintain physical security data related to facility security status, vulnerabilities, accreditations, SAP Facility and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility requirements, security container information, and facility manager documentation.
• Assess, track, and administer the security status of all SAP IT personnel, including polygraph requests, while ensuring the protection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
• Maintain personnel security files, initiate Personnel Access Requests (PARs), review incoming PARs, and submit for approvals to approving authority.
• Prepare and submit summary reports detailing unresolved personnel security actions for review and resolution.
• Manage swipe-access to secure facilities, and clearance and visit-authorization requests for SAP IT personnel attending classified events or meetings.
• Coordinate the secure physical transfer of classified materials between facilities, process courier card/memo requests for SAP IT personnel, and train personnel on couriering procedures.
• Facilitate access to management systems and assist in resolving any physical security incidents.
• Access relevant security databases, including Defense Information System for Security and Joint Access Database Environment.
• Provide escorts for individuals without appropriate security clearances for regular cleaning, painting, and routine inspections and maintenance of facility infrastructure.
• Coordinate with building management and the Pentagon Force Protection Agency to routinely check and maintain emergency equipment and container storage and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Respond to and report facility issues and building management and to government leadership.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related field.
• 5+ years' general experience.
• Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
• Demonstrated understanding of physical security, personnel security, information management, and / or facilities management.
• Ability to be rotationally available for on-call services for emergency repairs that could affect security or operations (e.g., power outages, security systems failure, assistance with security procedures).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understanding of DoD CIO and SAP IT.
• Ability to break down and accomplish broad tasks.
