Aegis Aerospace is seeking a skilled Stress Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, AL.
The Period of Performance (POP) is expected to be through March 2026. This is an onsite role initially with a 9x80 (9,9,9,9,8- 1st week, 9,9,9,9 off Friday-2nd week) work schedule. After two weeks role may become hybrid with two days onsite per week.
Salary range for this role is expected to be $100,000.00-$120,000. per year.

Aegis Aerospace, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, is seeking a stress engineer to support the Mars Ascent Vehicle Integrated System (MAVIS) program. This role focuses on performing finite element model (FEM) static analysis of MAVIS structures, providing critical insights to ensure structural integrity and mission success.
As a stress engineer, you will play a key role in analyzing, optimizing, and validating structural components, working closely with the design team to implement necessary modifications based on analysis results.

Responsibilities
- Perform FEM static analysis of MAVIS structures to assess strength, stiffness, and overall integrity
- Provide structural insights to the design team, recommending modifications based on analysis findings
- Support the stress team in the development of technical products for technical interchange meetings, preliminary design reviews (PDR), and other program milestones
- Assist in preparing and delivering contract deliverables related to MAVIS structural subsystems
- Utilize NASTRAN for finite element analysis and structural evaluations
- Participate in integrated product team (IPT) meetings, design reviews, and other collaboration efforts
- Ensure structural compliance with aerospace standards and mission requirements
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Must presently be a US Citizen
- Must have a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field from an accredited college
- 5+ years of experience in stress analysis and finite element modeling (FEM) building
- Hands-on experience with NASTRAN for structural analysis
- Strong understanding of aerospace structural analysis techniques and best practices
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with design, systems, and integration teams to ensure structural viability
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field from an accredited college
- Experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle structural analysis
- Knowledge of other structural analysis tools such as PATRAN, Abaqus, or HyperMesh
- Previous experience working with NASA, DoD, or aerospace programs
- Familiarity with composite structures and lightweight aerospace materials
- Strong communication skills to effectively present analysis results and recommendations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat, with the ability to effectively utilize these tools for documentation, communication, and collaboration
