Key Responsibilities:
• Deploy, configure, and manage VMware solutions, including VMware vSphere, vCenter, and other VMware products (e.g., NSX, vSAN, vRealize Suite).
• Administer VMware-based virtual machines (VMs) and host systems, ensuring performance, availability, and scalability.
• Monitor VMware environments to identify and resolve issues related to performance, resource allocation, and system health.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems with VMware infrastructure, including networking, storage, and virtual machine issues.
• Support the design and implementation of VMware environments and assist with system upgrades, patches, and migrations.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure smooth integration of VMware solutions into broader infrastructure projects.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for VMware management using tools such as PowerCLI, Bash, or other scripting languages.
• Perform regular backups, disaster recovery testing, and support high-availability configurations in VMware environments.
• Apply security patches and updates to VMware products and virtual machines, ensuring systems remain secure and compliant.
• Participate in capacity planning and performance optimization activities to ensure VMware environments meet the organization’s needs.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of VMware environments, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Assist with on-call support, ensuring the continuous availability and functionality of VMware systems.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for end-users related to VMware virtualized systems.
Qualifications:
• VMware Certification (e.g., VMware Certified Professional – VCP or equivalent) is required.
• Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and other VMware products such as NSX, vSAN, and vRealize Suite.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization, networking, and storage concepts within VMware environments.
• Experience in automating VMware tasks with PowerCLI, scripting languages, or other automation tools.
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components, including networking, servers, storage, and security.
• Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery processes within VMware environments.
• Proven experience troubleshooting and resolving complex issues within VMware infrastructure.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues in VMware systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
