Electrical Engineer Defense Simulation Systems

Location: Tampa, FL (100% On-site)
Salary: $62.50/hr. | Long-Term Contract-to-Hire

We re seeking an experienced and driven Electrical Engineer to support advanced simulation systems for Department of Defense (DoD) programs. This is a hands-on, high-impact opportunity to develop cutting-edge solutions that power military readiness and training. In this role, you ll tackle complex electrical engineering challenges, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and influence the full product lifecycle from OEM data to detailed electrical schematics. What You ll Be Doing
  • Lead the design and development of power and lighting distribution systems for flight simulation models
  • Create and interpret system, cable, and harness drawings using MicroStation or similar CAD tools
  • Analyze aircraft data to model accurate simulations of panels, instruments, and systems
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and network engineers to deliver integrated, high-performance systems
  • Drive design reviews and provide mentorship and quality checks for junior engineers
  • Develop and manage engineering orders and change notices
  • Interpret and apply NEC and IEC standards to ensure compliance and reliability
  • Support documentation efforts, including reviewing manuals and authorizing technical data for release

What You Bring
  • Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
  • Minimum 2 years in the simulation industry (DoD simulation experience is a big plus)
  • Familiarity with CAD applications (MicroStation preferred)
  • Solid understanding of NFPA 70 (NEC) and IEC standards
  • Strong ability to design from OEM specs and develop custom electrical solutions
  • Proficiency in developing spreadsheets, schematics, and technical documentation
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
