Parker Tide is a small business in DC. We serve as a value-added partner to the government. We are seeking an FOIA Site Lead Specialist to work with one of our DoD clients.
Title: FOIA Site Lead Specialist
Place of Performance: Government facility at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
Period of Performance: One year and four option years.
Clearance: Active TS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Years of Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in processing FOIA requests and reviewing proposed redactions.
Description
• Providing FOIA-specific training to action officers and providing technical support.
• Developing an action plan for new FOIA cases. Establishing processes and assigning appropriate resources to effectively fulfill contract performance requirements.
• Reviews and analyzes FOIA requests and makes determinations as to whether and where data in question exists, its reliability and which personnel should be involved.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews for redactions submitted by JTF-GTMO Directorates.
• Tracks and coordinates responses from various offices and redacts materials where appropriate.
• Processing FOIA requests using the department’s FOIA request management tracking system including assembling legal documents and evidence, reviewing cases, redacting information and applying exemptions as necessary, preparing the appropriate responses, and electronically submitting to Government staff for approvals.
• Drafts and prepares for signature responses to requests, which may contain redactions or partial denial to protect information.
• Communicating with outside organizations and higher headquarters on FOIA-related matters.
• Shall be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, as well as possess basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, SAFE, and Redact Express.
• Demonstrate a commitment to quality and customer support.
