Volt is immediately hiring Senior Software Engineer in Aurora, CO.
As Senior Software Engineer, you will:
We are looking for Senior Software Engineer to support our teams in Aurora, CO. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. In this role, you will use your solid foundation in Java and experience working in a Linux environment to comprehend customer needs and translate those needs into viable design solutions.
What You Will Do:
• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain software for C++, and Python based applications and software components for satellite ground systems.
• Work with a team of engineers, architects, and leaders in an Agile environment.
• Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities.
• Follow established software processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment level), external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts.
What You Will Learn
• Modern DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery techniques.
• Software lifecycle practices for defense projects.
• The importance and workings of satellite ground systems.
This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity.
This position requires Active Secret Clearance.
The Ideal candidate will have:
• A bachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and four (4) years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience with C++ software development in a Linux environment.
• Experience with Python
• Experience with object-oriented software development.
• Experience troubleshooting or debugging software
• Experience developing software in an Agile or DevOps environment.
Qualifications We Prefer:
• Experience with Java AND C++
• Experience with unit and automated functional test concepts
• Experience with some area of satellite ground system software such as mission management, planning and scheduling, command and telemetry, satellite operations, or flight dynamics models.
Pay Range: $74.00 - $84.00 per hour.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
