The Executive Officer position supports the UN Police Commissioner (the Head of the Police and Corrections Component at BINUH) in managing and coordinating UN and other assistance to train and advise the HNP.
Payrate: $45,239.37 Annually + Upliftts

- Liaise with other sections of BINUH as well as local police authorities and other international organizations on behalf of the Police Commissioner.
- Coordinate briefing and meetings involving the Police Commissioner including taking notes and drafting minutes.
- Brief the Police Commissioner on issues concerning his/her functions.
- Coordinate UN and other international donor assistance and training offered to the Haitian National Police.
- Liaise with INL Haiti regarding BINUH and INL engagement with the HNP.
- Advise the HNP on how to improve effectiveness and sustainability of organizational functions, potentially to include the police academy and school or other components of the HNP.
- Other duties as assigned by the BINUH officials.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in law, management, law enforcement, public administration, or a related field.
- Ten (10) years of progressive experience in police management and supervision, visionary skills and ability to form strong partnerships in diverse cultures.
- Good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures related to law enforcement organizations.
- Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
- Candidates must be currently employed with a federal, state, municipal or county law enforcement service or retired/separated within the last five years.
- Held at least the rank of Lieutenant per MINUJUSTH or similar for minimum of 2 years. A Lieutenant rank per MINUJUSTH is similar to a Sergeant rank in a large city police department have had supervisory responsibility.
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) certification.
- Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
