Junior Procurement Specialist II

Job Description:
Marathon is looking for someone who is willing to learn and be trained on procurement related tasks and activities. Selected candidate will be trained to support the following requirements:

• Performing needs assessment to identify customers' needs for services, suppliers, and equipment
• Performing market and industry trend analysis to expand and improve the supplier base and to determine availability of services, supplies equipment, and producers; benchmark industry for best usage practices and offer alternatives
• Act as the point of contact for both internal and external customers in regard to procurement issues; Review and/or coordinate technical review of contract deliverables
• Maintain current contracts by updating demographics, fee schedules, and any service changes
• Review and/or coordinate technical review of contract deliverables
• Plan monitor and track supplier cost, schedule, and technical activities
• Coordinate on-going technical activities with suppliers and customers

2 days Onsite; 3 days Telework

Required Skills:

• 6+ months procurement experience required
• College degree required, degree in business is preferred
• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
• Basic procurement knowledge
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Expertise with MS Office productivity tools specifically in MS Excel

Desired Skills:

• Some experience with government procurement process is preferred but not a requirement.
