Location: Remote with up to 15% Travel to the following locations: Charleston, SC; Norfolk, VA; San Diego, CA; St. Louis, MO
What will you be doing?
This position will be focused on supporting the design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation of a Software Defined Datacenter (SDDC) and other related technologies in support of the US Navy's mission and objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design, implement, and support hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) solutions, traditional on-premises datacenter infrastructure, and tactical network infrastructure.
• Provide senior-level technical support and system engineering for all Windows-based and Linux-based platforms, Active Directory, WSUS, VDI, and tactical network applications.
• Demonstrate strong scripting skills with PowerShell and Ansible to automate tasks and manage infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced system issues, including those related to STIGs, security controls, and performance tuning.
• Develop and implement patching and security strategies for ongoing systems.
• Identify and implement areas for improvement in the infrastructure, including capacity planning and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with other team members and Navy stakeholders to provide a high level of customer service for users.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of prior experience in datacenter infrastructure, Windows-based platforms, Linux-based platforms, and tactical network applications. Equivalent Work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Active Secret Clearance needed to start (Can hold up to a TS/SCI).
• US Citizenship
• Must be 8570 IAT II compliant (i.e., Security+ CE).
• Very good understanding of datacenter architecture and components.
• Strong scripting skills with PowerShell and Ansible.
• Experience with STIGs and security controls.
• Good understanding of datacenter ports and protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSH, NFS).
• Experience in Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket)
• Ability to travel up to 15%.
