Director

Marathon TS is seeking a Director to join our clients Professional Services offerings.

Responsibilities:
• Lead cloud initiatives as part of an Agile development team to execute complex goals that meet the operational needs of the customer
• Define the architecture of cloud deployed applications (AWS preferred)
• Establish legacy modernization and migration roadmaps for large scale applications
• Advise on the best forms of developing containerized applications. (i.e., Docker, kubernetes)
• Experience with modern software development with actual hand-on keyboard experience
• Experience with Federal Cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
• Experience with Agile Delivery and tools that facilitate Agile Teams and software life cycle management
• Knowledge of Architectural Modeling, Data Modeling, Software Infrastructure, IT standards, Platform Architecture, Project Management, Tactical Planning, Risk Management, Software Product Design, Problem-Solving, Effectiveness measurement, IT Procedures, Strategic Planning, Software Architecture, or IT Policies
• Ability to obtain a security clearance or agency clearance
• Define and drive SecDevOps best practices within large teams
• Build applications using service-oriented, micro service, and/or API based architectures at an enterprise scale
• Implement event-driven applications using queues, service bus and other related patterns
• Hands-on Design experience for available, cost-efficient, fault-tolerant, and scalable distributed systems on AWS in Production environments
• Architect and deploy secure and robust applications on AWS technologies
• Build CI/CD pipelines and know how to work with them
• Provide implementation guidance based on best practices to the organization throughout the life cycle of the project
• Knowledge and experience automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications with Kubernetes
• Responsible for the effective and timely delivery of valuable cloud solutions
• Identify risks and impediments to hitting program goals, and develop plans to mitigate and resolve
• Provide leadership and mentorship for the technical teams
• Be a strategic adviser to the leadership team
• Represent the technical teams when interfacing with the customer
• Establish a technical vision and technical standards for the program's environments and suite of applications
• Maintain delivery partner relationships, providing visibility into work products and maintaining partner satisfaction
• Work with the customer on long term strategies to better leverage technology and champion process improvement initiatives

Required Experience (include Education and Certs):

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline
• 8+ years' experience in one or more architecture domains (e.g., business architecture, solutions architecture, application architecture)
• Advanced knowledge and experience in one or more current programming languages (e.g., Java, Javascript (including AngularJS), Python, Rust, Go, Ruby or PHP)
• Expertise in service-oriented architecture, web services, and Application Programming Interfaces
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work with limited direction
• Ability to obtain a security clearance with the federal government
