Primary Focus

The Junior Marine Mechanic/Engineer, under the supervision of the Senior Marine Mechanic/Engineer, will perform preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and repairs to all systems categorized as Hull, Mechanical, Electrical (HME), and Hydraulic. The Junior Marine Mechanic/Engineer reports to the Boat Captain while underway.



Job Responsibilities

The Junior Marine Mechanic/Engineer will report all discrepancies to the Senior Marine Mechanic/Engineer
The Junior Marine Mechanic/Engineer will be qualified to fill the Senior Marine Mechanic/Engineer position for Underway Mission Support, in the absence of the Senior Marine Mechanic/Engineer
Other duties as assigned


Minimum Job Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

US Coast Guard (USCG) Wiper license
Must pass a pre-employment drug check
Secret Clearance required.
Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment
Minimum Skills:

Ability to multitask and work independently
Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Perform well in a position of trust and responsibility
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions

Professional office environment
Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties for extended periods of time. Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
Must be able to work varying work schedules and/or extended hours to meet business needs and project deadlines.
Ability to perform administrative duties for an extended period of time
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of the duties.
May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
