The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) at the Radiant Solutions Gaithersburg, MD office will be responsible for directing security measures necessary for implementing the requirements of our Security Procedure Manual in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) procedures. The AFSO will be responsible for managing the personnel security clearance process. They will work closely with the Facility Security Officer and ensure Radiant Solutions is compliant with the Industrial Security Program.
Note: US citizenship and a Top Secret security clearance are mandatory for this position and required for consideration.
• Initiate background investigations and conducting security briefings in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Manual (NISPOM) • Provide assistance with visitor control program and meetings/conferences • Possess knowledge of the SCI environment and sponsor base to assist in professionally supporting a multi-level program arrangement • Execute security requirements and deliverables to internal MDA staff • Independently take action on complex security tasks and decisions • Possess general knowledge of security concepts and principles as they apply to a personnel security program • Prepares, submits, monitors, and updates computer tracking systems concerning appropriate background investigation material • Communicates effectively to provide status updates, ensure compliance with NISPOM requirements and provides guidance for candidate questions or concerns • Validates and ensures that submitted documents meet acceptability criteria and take appropriate actions to resolve discrepancies or incomplete information
• Top Secret Clearance with favorable SSBI completed within the past five years • 5-7 years of personnel security experience • Bachelor’s degree in related field is preferred • Experience using Microsoft Office Programs • Well versed in the NISPOM and Intelligence Community Directives • Experience with JPAS, e-QIP, eFCL, SWFT and ISFD • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of management
