Northrop Grumman Information Systems is seeking a Biostatistician to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in transforming the future of technology and public health. This position will be located in Atlanta, GA and will become part of Northrop Grumman's Health Protection and Promotion Operating Unit. The candidate will focus in the areas of statistical analysis, statistical advice on study protocols, and assistance to local and field staff around the world..

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Provide expert statistical technical assistance to Division of Global HIV & TB (DGHT) headquarters and field staff, as well as to DGHT Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) officers
* Perform advanced statistical analysis of HIV- and TB-related data (e.g., complex sample survey data, longitudinal data, time-to-event data, etc.) using SAS, Stata, and/or R
* Prepare technical reports, abstracts, scientific presentations, and peer-reviewed publications for dissemination to DGHT staff and to the broader scientific community
* Assist with the development of study protocols (e.g., study design, power and sample size calculations, statistical analysis sections, etc.), manuscripts and other scientific documents.
* Assist DGHT staff with the planning, organization, and analysis of scientific studies.
* Develop advanced data analysis and data visualization tools and applications using R Shiny
* Conduct trainings on statistical topics and statistical software
* The position will require a minimum of 4-5 international trips per year, each about 1-2 weeks in length


Basic Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* Bachelor's Degree in Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Engineering, or Mathematics, including a minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
* 5 years of experience with quantitative analysis and data interpretation
* 5 years of experience with advanced statistical analysis and programming in R, Stata, and/or SAS
* 3 years of advanced programming in R and knowledge of R Shiny
* Excellent organizational skills, commitment to generating accurate data, ability to meet short deadlines, and demonstrated experience in multi-tasking
* Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
* Strong oral and written communication skills; Experience with both written and oral presentation of data and the ability to interact with senior research staff and external stakeholders
* Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly with multidisciplinary staff from different organizations/agencies
* Adheres to reproducible research

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
* Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Engineering, or Mathematics with related work experience and graduate level coursework in statistics
* Experience developing advanced data visualization applications (RShiny, D3, etc.)* Experience developing statistical packages using Stata or R
* Experience with mathematical modeling (e.g., SI, SIR, SEIR, etc.)* Experience with geospatial/geostatistical analysis
