FSA, a rapidly growing professional services company delivering highly qualified personnel in support of the government's mission, has a vacancy for a Knowledge Management & IT Assistant. This position will support the Department of Homeland Security's Office of General Counsel. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Office of General Counsel with their SharePoint and Office 365 implementations, and to get involved in a new e-Discovery implementation.
The Knowledge Management & IT Assistant shall provide knowledge management support services with duties that includes designing, constructing and maintaining in-house databases of relevant material, or helping others to design, research data retrieval, storage, and analysis techniques and tools to support primary and secondary research activities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Work with relevant tools such as Microsoft SharePoint 2010, 2013, 2016, Online for Office 365, SharePoint Designer, Microsoft CRM (Customer Relationship Management software), E-Discovery system, Windows operating systems 8 & 10 Microsoft Office
Manage the current knowledge management practices as well as design new knowledge distribution policies and encourage use of the new practices
Analyze the effectiveness of the new knowledge management programs by observing its usage and evaluate its impact in terms of the organizational benefits
Interact with the staff members, unit managers and the clients. Act as a mediator to answer the queries of the clients and staff about the knowledge management products and practices
Utilize the knowledge base resources and design a training module for the staff and clients to help them access the knowledge management tools
Encourage the staff and workers to share knowledge effectively and efficiently
Promote knowledge sharing through the organization's operational business processes and systems by, among others, strengthening links between knowledge sharing and the information systems, and improving integration among information systems in the organization, to facilitate seamless exchange of information across systems
Promote collaborative tools such as activity rooms to facilitate sharing of ideas and work among internal teams and external partners
Provide support for the establishment and nurturing of communities of practice, including workshops, one-on-one guidance, and troubleshooting
Share experiences across communities of practice, business units, and networks on innovative approaches in knowledge sharing
Disseminate information about the organization's knowledge sharing program to internal audiences, including organizing knowledge sharing events, maintaining communications on knowledge sharing across the organization, participation in orientation and training sessions
Knowledge Management & IT Assistant must meet the following qualifications:
3 years of working in SharePoint 2010
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
Typing speed of 40 words per minute
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Access
This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a 7 (or 10) year minimum background investigation.
