MVM, Inc. â a leading provider of professional, technical, administrative, and program management support services to the Federal Government â is creating a pipeline of Lead Teachers that would be interested in provisional commitment projects anywhere in the US with other highly capable team members tasked with providing care to Unaccompanied Children (UC) in a limited duration shelter dependent on the request from The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).
Lead Teacher provide oversight of team of Educational Instructors and ensure all the local educational standards in basic academic areas, such as science, social studies, math, reading, writing, and English as a Second Language (ESL). The curriculum will be age-appropriate and based on the 30-day average length of stay at the temporary shelter.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provide oversight of a team of Educational Instructors.
Ensure quality control and uniformity of curriculum development and assessments.
Ensure adherence to the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) policies and procedures.
Distribute feedback and promote friendly collaboration among the department staff.
Monitor Educational Instructor performance daily including classroom walk-throughs for observation, random curriculum reviews, and soliciting student feedback.
Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or other relevant field; OR
Bachelor's degree in one of the aforementioned fields ,experience in education a plus .
Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
âMust be able to travel for extended periods of time (up to 100%).
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Background in child development.
Strong managerial experience.
Depending on the shelter location requested by ORR, MVM, Inc. may offer extended travel. Extended travel typically requires a commitment of a minimum of 30 to 60 days. Travel expenses will be paid according to Federal Travel Regulations. Locations anywhere in United States may include, but are not limited to, New Mexico, California, Texas, and Arizona.
