The Security Assistant will support the FSO to oversee, monitor, and report on all security aspects of DoD and Phacil Security requirements, policies and procedures to ensure compliance within the National Industrial Security Program. The Security Assistant will be responsible for managing New Hire On-boarding and the personnel security clearance process.
Clearance Required: Active DOD Secret required to Start
Daily Job Responsibilities: The candidate will provide support for all security functions in accordance with the NISPOM to include managing 500+ PCLs associated with collateral and SCI programs and an additional 200+ with Public Trust.
Assist the FSO to maintain compliance with DSS regulation requirements for the Phacil HQ facility and all employees under the McLean CAGE Code, to include employees working on site at other locations.
Provide full security indoctrination processing for new hires, badging, security debriefings, foreign travel notifications, annual refresher training, and other related security training as required.
Update/maintain current personnel rosters, visit certifications, and personnel within the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS).
Process Public Trust/Suitability clearance packages for various DoD and Non-DOD Agencies.
Initiate new Na clearance investigations and Periodic Reinvestigations through eQIP when necessary, as well as coordinate fingerprinting via a Live Scan System and submit them through SWFT.
Enter and track personnel data through SIMS and SharePoint.
Assist FSO with creating/building reports within SIMS or other outside software for monthly reporting to Phacil PMs and Executives.
Assist with Insider Threat Program, self-inspections, and DSS security reviews.
Provide assistance with physical security for the Phacil HQ facility, implementing visitor control/badging requirements and procedures.
Communicate effectively to provide accurate guidance to candidates and personnel as it relates to their current clearance status and update information to ensure compliance with the NISPOM.
Must have a minimum of one (1) year experience utilizing JPAS and processing eQIP requests
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (i.e . W ord, PowerPoint, Excel, Acces s and Outlook)
Must be highly organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
U.S. Citizenship is required
DOD Secret clearance required
Experience with SIMS, SWFT, NCAISS and other DoD databases
Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Cyber Awareness completed within the last 12 months
Some STEPP program training within Industrial Security Program Management course
Degree Required/Equivalent Experience w/o degree: Bachelors and 0 years experience or equivalent (High School, 3-5 years of security experience)
