Daily Job Responsibilities:
Designs and plans network communications systems.
Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
3.Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
4.Conducts testing of network design.
5.Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure properly set configuration options.
6.Plans implementation of enhancements and upgrades to the network.
7.Advises network users of hardware requirements, configurations, and limitations.
8.Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
9.Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
10.May be assigned responsibility for the management of the systems administration function, including associated staff.
Required Skills :
Shall possess as a minimum a: CISCO Certification, CCNA and Security+
Shall possess experience in the configuration & administration of LAN/WAN network devices to include firewalls, switches, routers and security appliances.
Strong understanding working with the Remedy trouble ticket system.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred Skills :
Experience supporting DoD/government customers
Proficient in network monitoring systems
Solid interpersonal communication skills
Ability to prioritize and document tasks, self-starter
Degree Required/Equivalent Experience w/o degree : 4 years of experience doing network administrator work
