Title:  Logistics Specialist

Limited Duration: Intermittent, Temporary, Seasonal/On-Call

Location: Various, including Homestead, FL

Travel:  Optional, Up to 100%

Schedule: Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

MVM, Inc. – a leading provider of professional, technical, administrative, and program management support services to the Federal Government – is creating a pipeline of Logistics Specialists that would be interested in provisional commitment projects anywhere in the US with other highly capable team members tasked with providing care to Unaccompanied Children (UC) in a limited duration shelter dependent on the request from The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).

Logistics Specialists manage the shelter inventory system and provide the appropriate type and amount of supplies and materials at any time. Logistics Specialist monitor the inventory of clothing, office equipment, supplies, and any items issued to the unaccompanied children. During transports, Logistic Specialists are in charge of ensuring the fleet is stocked, fueled, and clean, as well as coordinate the maintenance schedule.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

·       Issues all program deliverables and records receiving new inventory into stock, coordinates with corporate-based Project Operations Coordinator to verify quantities, billing, and ordering new stock.

·       Reconciles inventory and reports which materials were issued under each Task Order.

·       Contacts food services vendors to order meals, orders materials and supplied, and accounts for potential surges.

·       Issues project telephones and data devices to Transportation Specialists and ensure operability at time of issue and return to stock.

Minimum Requirements: 

·       Bachelor's in a related field OR four (4) years' experience in a professional setting.

·       One (1) year of experience in inventory, fleet, or logistical support.

·       Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

·       Pass fingerprint-based criminal background check.

·       Pass Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) check.

Deployment-Based Travel:

Depending on the shelter location requested by ORR, MVM, Inc. may offer extended travel. Extended travel typically requires a commitment of a minimum of 30 to 90 days. Travel expenses will be paid according to Federal Travel Regulations. Locations may include, but are not limited to, New Mexico, California, Texas, and Arizona.
