Vykin Corporation is currently looking for an experienced Top Secret cleared SCI eligible Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in Osan, South Korea. We are a small defense contracting company that is veteran owned servicing the US Department of Defense. * Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance on USAF ATO production systems.
* Analyze processes and problems relative to the design of the system and develops and recommend corrective action.
* Plan, coordinate, and install applications software and hardware for operating systems.
* Optimize the functionality and performance of hardware and software systems and ensure availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of servers.
* Plan software projects, evaluate and manage development of new software and upgrades of existing software.
* Review system specifications, planning, requirement documentation, and cost factors to ensure needs are properly identified, considered, and constructed within budgetary restraints.
* Run tests to verify operability and functionality; analyze hardware and software malfunctions to resolve physical and logical processing problems; and recommend acquisition of programs or equipment which will resolve operational problems.
* Provide on-going optimization and problem solving support; continually surveys system operation to identify potential systems problems which could lead to loss or serious interruption of service.
* Initiate corrective or preventative measures to rectify immediate problems and prevent future occurrences.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures to isolate source of problems.
* Perform testing, troubleshooting, and correct problems relative to interface and interoperability of system components such as network, hardware, systems software, and applications programs.
* Provide proactive consultation and instruction with system users to ensure seamless implementation of changes.
* Enhance automated systems to improve system response time for users.
* Develop proposals and keep abreast of technological advances to ensure continued optimum service.
* Plan, develop, and implement enhancements which will improve the user's capability in meeting ATO production requirements and optimize their response time in meeting objectives.
* Prepare recommendations that allow for design of systems to meet organizational needs and provide technical guidance to users to enable them to accept or reject them.
* Evaluate organization system use of programs to determine effectiveness of applications and recommend changes in procedures or methods of use to enhance productivity.
* Provide technical assistance, systems advisory service, and training.
* Provide on-going technical advice and guidance to customers in the operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and a variety of other routine IT issues.
* Develop and present formal and informal training sessions on newly installed equipment and applications software for Workgroup Managers and Functional System Administrators, so they are able to understand the relationships of the system and operate within the environment without undue interruptions.
* Tailor training to match functional area assignments and individual needs.
* Develop user manuals or instructions for recurring training.


* Minimum of five (5) years of experience performing Systems Administration/Engineering on DoD systems/servers; advanced education in a relevant field can count towards the equivalent years of experience (Associate's degree equals 2 years of experience, Bachelor's degree equals 4 years of experience, etc)
* An active in-scope Top Secret clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI
* DoD 8570 IAT level II compliant (e.g. CompTIA security+, etc.

* Bachelors degree in IT or related discipline
* MCSA or higher Microsoft certification

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Knowledge of systems integration methods, performance tuning methods, test and evaluation methods and procedures, IT security principles and methods, and project management principles and methods sufficient to plan and coordinate the installation of new products or equipment.
* Knowledge of Theatre Battle Management Core System along with how it works with other SPO applications (MAAPTK and JTT)
* Knowledge of Master Air Attack Planning Toolkit along with how it works with other SPO applications (Joint Target Toolkit and Theatre Battle Management Core Systems.)
* Knowledge of SQL Basics and SQL * Plus. Fundamentals of Relational Database Management.
* Knowledge of Red Hat System Administration
* Knowledge of Oracle Server architecture, database objects, and managing table-spaces and undo segments.
* Knowledge of configuration management methods and techniques for integrating information system components sufficient to install and maintain software and hardware, optimize functionality of systems, and diagnose and recover failed systems.
* Knowledge of methods, principles, and practices covering troubleshooting of complex computer system failures, recovery of systems, adjusting, modifying, and improving systems to include hardware and software components.
* Knowledge of methods and practices involved in the integration of system components sufficient to optimize system performance.
* Knowledge of new or revised policies, practices, and technical management guidelines to provide advisory services, consultation, technical assistance and training.
* Ability to work closely with management officials to ensure seamless implementation of systems; identify and anticipate server performance, availability, capacity, or configuration problems; resolve installation problems; identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities and risks; and maintain server integrity and availability.
* Ability to modify existing systems and relate all aspects of the work to overall system requirements, advise on and implement new technology, and offer alternative approaches in operating systems development and/or problem resolution.
* Ability to stay well informed on rapidly changing technology to evaluate its possible impact on organization missions and to develop plans to satisfy requirements.
* Ability to develop formal and informal training session materials/user instructions or manuals and to present training which enables customer understanding and operation.

Working Conditions

The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment. The work location is a government facility located on a military installation in Osan, South Korea supporting a DoD customer. The successful applicant will be working for and reporting directly to the prime contractor or the DoD customer as appropriate.
