Title:  Case Manager

Limited Duration: Intermittent, Temporary, Seasonal/On-Call

Location: Various, including Homestead, FL

Travel:  Optional, Up to 100%

Schedule: Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

MVM, Inc. – a leading provider of professional, technical, administrative, and program management support services to the Federal Government – is creating a pipeline of Case Managers that would be interested in provisional commitment projects anywhere in the US with other highly capable team members tasked with providing care to Unaccompanied Children (UC) in a limited duration shelter dependent on the request from The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).

Case Managers coordinate family reunification services for children ages 13 to 17 who have been placed in the temporary shelter care by ORR. Case Managers help identify and vet potential sponsors to facilitate the discharge of the children in a timely manner. They also help connect children and sponsors to local resources and are the primary liaison between the children and sponsor while in shelter care.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and document ORR UAC assessments.
  • Coordinate case management and family reunification services for children
  • Initiate and maintain direct contact with each child and the child’s family while the child is in ORR care.
  • Facilitate the timely release or discharge of children to identified family members or authorized caregiver/custodian.
  • Maintain the UAC case file and UAC Portal in accordance with ORR policies and procedures

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent degree in Psychology, Sociology or other relevant Behavioral Science.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Pass fingerprint-based criminal background check
  • Pass Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) check

Deployment-Based Travel:

Depending on the shelter location requested by ORR, MVM, Inc. may offer extended travel. Extended travel typically requires a commitment of a minimum of 30 to 90 days. Travel expenses will be paid according to Federal Travel Regulations. Locations may include, but are not limited to, New Mexico, California, Texas, and Arizona.
