Buyer position, an integral member of a Harris TCOM cross-functional team, responsible for supporting procurement activities within a CAS compliant environment from the proposal stage through Program award and completion. The acquisition value stream includes sourcing, negotiation and order placement. Responsible for managing Supplier’s performance and ensuring that Harris and Customer objectives are achieved.
The successful candidate will work under Program direction to purchase materials, equipment, supplies, services and commodity products. Demonstrates a complete understanding and application of procurement principles, concepts, practices and standards. Possesses a working knowledge and understanding of the FAR/DFAR/DPAS/CPSR and ITAR regulatory requirements. Negotiates/justifies price, delivery, quality and service. Follows up on all purchase order placements through completion of order. Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations and engineering changes. Evaluates suppliers and rates them as to capability, performance and delivery.
Bachelors degree in Business or Technical Field
6+ years of procurement experience
3+ years of experience with Government Contracting and FAR/DFAR/DPAS/CPSR Compliance.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience in supporting Small Business Program requirements.
Working knowledge of Systems Manufacturing Operations
Ability to effectively interact with upper management and within a team environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access desired.
