The Design Engineer is responsible for the following:

Xator Corporation is seeking an experienced engineer to develop security system integration designs. Xator designs, installs and maintains complex security systems. Come join us! 

The Design Engineer is responsible for the following:
• Conduct technical security assessments and recommend security upgrades.
• Identify security risks, analyze those risks, and specify system requirements and procedural measures to ensure the integrity of stand-alone computers and network information systems.
• Produce a variety of written documents including memoranda, trip reports, telegraphic communications with posts; and engineering surveys or service reports detailing specific engineering services planned or performed.
• Perform extensive travel throughout the world to service overseas.
• Specify, design, procure, install equipment or products for technical security and information technology systems, such as:
o Technical systems/closed-circuit television, intrusion detection and alarms, locking devices, access control and denial systems, countermeasures equipment, and acoustic/RF attenuation technologies.
o Computer systems/encryption, firewalls, forensics, network intrusion monitoring, and system security audit products.
o Engage in work that can on occasion be physically demanding.

The Design Engineer must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree from an accredited university, or equivalent education and experience. The individual should have at least five (5) years of current experience in conducting technical security assessments, product evaluations, performing technical needs assessments and recommending security upgrades. Design Engineers are required to provide expert consulting services on new product developments and technological applications in the market. Design Engineers maintain an expert level knowledge of installed base products and strive to sustain and improve the current technical security capabilities.

Individuals must possess direct working knowledge of computer systems, computer security, and familiarity with operating systems, hardware platforms, and networks.

Additional desired experience includes:
• Construction management experience (electrical/power, cabling, telecommunications)
• Security systems/life safety systems
• Fire alarm systems (similar to required experience)
• Software House, Hirsch, Cinch, c-cure
• CCTV
• Access control

The ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance is required.
