NOTE: This position will be assigned to Mission Training Complex (MTCs) Atterbury in Edinburgh, Indiana but is a telecommuter remote position (Virtual).
Position Summary :
Part of a six person team that covers the War Fighter functions of Movement and Maneuver, Intelligence, Fires, Sustainment, Protection and Battle Staff. Collective team plans, executes and oversees activities for the development, delivery and evaluation of technical training. Establishes processes for identifying training content and evaluating training effectiveness. Uses specialized software technology to research, configure, maintain, update and develop new and existing media and materials. Ensures accuracy and quality of doctrinal training products.
Provides expertise, exercise design, exercise control, and technical support by advising on the integration of the mission command systems to customer units, thereby enabling unit commanders to conduct mission command training, and staff-level proficiency certification, at home station training and other regional training sites within the customer environment. Evaluates customer technical training needs and provides subject matter expertise to support training content, objectives and design.
Individuals in this position will provide necessary management, training advice, and subject matter expertise required to provide Live, Virtual, Constructive, and Gaming (LVC-G) training support services to ARNG Commanders and Soldiers with a focus on pre-mobilization and collective war fighting tasks IAW the ARFORGEN/SRM model, and other pre-mobilization training requirements outlined in Army Regulations. Will also provide support to assist units in planning and executing: Digital (ERF supported) Command Post Exercises (CPXs), Integrated Staff Exercise (STAFFEX), Section STAFFEX, Fires EX, Logistics Exercise (LOGEX), Digital Communications Exercise (COMMEX), Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) workshops. This support will primarily be provided at unit hosted location through deployment of a Mobile Training Team (MTT).
Primary Job Functions specified in Contract:
Plan for and execute Concept Development Conferences (CDCs), including site surveys, for ARNG Brigades and Battalions to participate in Doctrinal Training Team (DTT) rotational events.
Plan for and execute doctrinally current Section STAFFEXs for ARNG Brigades and Battalions to provide commanders and staffs the opportunity to develop and apply war- fighting skills using the framework of the MDMP. Develop doctrinally current training materials including higher command operations orders, reports, briefings and lead requested workshops. Coach, teach, and mentor units during the conduct of Section STAFFEXs in order to assist the commander in achieving their training objectives. Provide “doctrinally correct textbook solutions” upon request to training units for staff products and exercises at the conclusion of each training event.
Plan for and execute constructive (Integrated (Full) STAFFEX) in coordination with other elements of the MCTSP for ARNG units, to provide commanders and staffs the opportunity to exercise operations orders developed in Section STAFFEXs. The focus of the Integrated (Full) STAFFEX will be based upon the unit commander’s training objectives. Be knowledgeable of not only the doctrine for the specific unit type but also best use of tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for the type of unit supported.
Provide on-site feedback to unit Commander and appropriate staff members in the form of informal discussions. Prepare a Final Exercise Report (FER) that addresses the planning, preparation and execution of each fully executed DTT rotation.
Provide doctrinal advisory assistance, briefing support, and assistance with command initiatives to include special reports, meetings, white papers, and other command initiatives.
Participate in annual refresher training to maintain continuity of operations, sustain doctrinal currency, and certifications.
Education and Experience Qualifications :
Bachelor’s and typically six (6) or more years’ related work experience, a Master’s degree and typically four (4) or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
We are searching for a Field Grade Officer with primary staff experience in the Fires War Fighting Function at Brigade, and/or Division level, with emphasis on planning, targeting, Fire support coordination and deep attack at these levels.
At least six (6) years of combined staff experience, or eight (8) years of specialized experience in a MCTSP duty position, or a similar position.
Combat Training Center (CTC) OC/T experience (or similar) helpful, Officer with primary staff experience at Battalion, Brigade, and/or Division level (or similar) with experience employing the Fires Warfighter Functions and associated systems.
Military Education Level (MEL) 4, MEL 1 is preferred (or similar)
Previous Battalion or higher command is preferred. Army Management Information System / Mission Command Systems qualification(s) and experience using National Guard training support systems, Army Management Information System, and Mission Command Systems is also preferred.
Candidate must possess and maintain an active US Government issued SECRET level security clearance.
