The coordinated terrorist attacks on the morning of September 11, 2001 forever impacted the course of history and the American way of life. Those attacks resulted in the creation of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), designed to prevent similar attacks from occurring in the future.

CSRA supports the TSA, the leading Counterterrorism Agency for the US Government, by managing its worldwide IT environment. Our day-to-day mission is to provide that support in such a way that TSA can protect every single one of those 695 million people equally well, thus protecting our transportation infrastructure and ensuring freedom of movement for people and commerce.
Currently, we are seeking an Information Technology (IT) Specialist in East Elmhurst, New York. The selected candidate must be able to obtain government security clearance, per contract requirements (Clearance Level: Secret/TSA EOD).
Field support includes dedicated onsite personnel for EWR TSA users at the airport, off-site and Spoke locations. Typical onsite support hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, local time, Monday through Friday. The onsite technicians at these facilities respond to IT support issues, and document each issue and its solution in the GFE ticketing system. They also perform as technical resource coordinator, IT Project Coordinator, and IT optimization lead; and they monitor IT policies and procedures at their assigned locations.
CSRA-s management approach includes dedicated personnel to oversee End User Services support at all TSA EWR facilities. CSRA End User Services Management will evaluate the performance of the support personnel, monitor customer satisfaction, and provide program management to the IT Support team. CSRA End User Services Management will provide project coordination and oversight of all support aspects, manage activities between CSRA PMO and TSA HQ Field Relations, and address the needs of TSA-s leadership in the field.
So what is required of an IT Specialist on a day to day basis? There are quite a myriad of tasks and responsibilities, such as:
* Provide Professional End User Support on all contract defined Equipment/Software at defined locations * Provide Project Support on Local and HQ assigned Projects * Respond to and support End User IT Support issues documenting each issue and its solution in the GFE ticketing system * Provide on-site technical support to monitor and track end user trouble calls to the Help Desk and, as required, provide necessary support for resolution * Provide immediate end user support for all field executives such as the FSD, on-site senior staff or others so designated by the FSD * Provide advice / support to the staff on Microsoft products as well as COTS products and other application configurations * Set up and maintain Voicemail / VoIP systems, Coordinate telephone line installations and moves at the off-site, on-site airport, and spokes, provide analog technology support (fax and modems) and manage all HQ approved TSA plain old telephone service (POTS) local dial tone * Acts as liaison between project team members, customers and installation team to ensure project is implemented seamlessly

* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field and 2 -10 Years (preferred 5+ years) of Professional End User support, Project Management, Network Support, or equivalent combination of education and experience. * DOD Secret Clearance * A+ * Network+ * Security+
