DSA Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer. This is a full time position in Fort Detrick.
A successful candidate will work closely with the development and systems team to support the development, test, and operational systems. They will work closely with the Quality Assurance and Operations groups to support ongoing missions. The candidate will actively work to troubleshoot problems with existing systems as well as engineer, implement, and support new solutions. The candidate will also work with the Information Assurance team to maintain the security compliance of systems.
Although this is not primarily a software development position a foundation in software development concepts will be required for success. This role will involve creating scripted system configurations and deployments using SDLC tools and methodologies. This systems engineer will be focused on systems that run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and system services such as Apache HTTPD, NGINX, Node.JS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc. as well as virtualization and custom applications.

•Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) deliverables
•Ability to take total ownership of assigned components
•Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic environment
•Self-driven Team Player
•Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Desired knowledge, skill and abilities:
•Experience using Linux and common services – Red Hat / Fedora is a plus
•Bash Scripting - Puppet is a plus
•Exposure to Databases, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, etc.
•Exposure to Virtualization
•Previous use of a Code Management system such as GIT or SVN
Education and Certification:
•B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience
•Must have, or obtain within 90 days of hire, a Security+ Certification
•Must have an active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
