Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Software Engineering team located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), OH. The Embedded Software Engineer designs, develops, operates and maintains software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to, and integrated with, engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of engineering applications and products, such as GPS anti-jamming devices. Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Develop software requirements in conjunction with our Systems Engineering Department
* Design and develop algorithms to solve complex problems
* Develop software designs based on our approved software requirements
* Develop software source code in line with the approved software designs
* Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to lower level software engineers in their supporting software development tasks This requisition may be filled at a higher level based on the qualifications listed below. DAYOHMSTR

Qualifications

This requisition may be filled at either a level 2 or a level 3. Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or closely related engineering/technical degree plus 2 years (or Master of Science degree plus 0 years) of progressive experience in software engineering
* U.S citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance. An interim clearance is required to start. Basic Qualifications for a Level 3:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or closely related engineering/technical degree plus 5 years (or Master of Science degree plus 3 years, or PhD plus 0 years) of progressive experience in software engineering
* U.S citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
* Current Secret clearance, or higher
* Experience with Linux Operating Systems
