Kforce has a client seeking a Configuration and Release Manager in Fairfax, VA.
A Configuration manager must have experience in management configuration programs to ensure that all proposed and actual changes to program technology and documentation are properly staffed, approved, and tracked. The candidate must facilitate the change Notification process used for updating product. They must also ensure notification of performing organizations or project teams of change activity.
The Configuration/Release Manager will be responsible for tracking and controlling changes in software, to include revision control, version control, and establishment of baselines
Responsible for the integrity of the software through the software life cycle
Responsible for tracking software version across a portfolio of software projects, responsible for creating and enforcing standards to include code check in, code freeze, integration with continuous build systems, and providing management reports on current versions, issues and discrepancies
Work with software engineers; check code out and execute builds
Will work with Scrum Master, release managers and engineers
Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Engineering Management, Math, or the equivalent and have at least 10 years of experience
Must have experience in management of individual releases of software, hardware or other system components
Must have experience in coordinating with QA, Development, packaging and hardware teams
Experience in documenting releases, risks and in maintaining the schedule of planned releases
Extensive experience in the managing of source code and documentation for baselining and product builds
Expertise in using IBM Rational Tools (i.e. Rational Team Concert)
Deployment experience working in an Agile environment
Experienced must include a wide range of work in identifying configuration items, their relationships, and data for repositories, consistency of a product's performance, functional, and physical attributes with its requirements, design, and operational information throughout its life
Excellent organization, presentation, customer communication, and organizational skills are required
SEI Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) experience or familiarity
