Responsibilities include: • Ability to design and develop an innovative global security control center from concept to operational status at the MDA Headquarters (Fort Belvoir, VA). • Supervise the integration of local and global perspectives with an operational staff 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, and 365 days per year to provide accurate and consistent global security situational awareness equipping MDA Senior Leadership with critical and timely information. • Continuously evaluate, recommend, and implement innovative solutions to ensure the GSCC remains on the cutting-edge of global security situational awareness and to ensure on-going efficacy of operations. • Serve as the focal point for emergency communications with MDA Senior Leadership, SOC staff, building management, and the host installation. • Knowledgeable and responsible for the integration of emergency management processes and procedures, including security checklists and special security instructions, in order to assist in the execution of emergency actions requiring Senior Leadership involvement. • Provide initial assessment of emergency situations arising within MDA facilities, shall immediately establish communications with the SOC, and shall apprise SOC management of what has occurred and actions taken. • Perform functions as directed by SOC management, the COR, or higher government authority. • Maintain understanding of the MDA Continuity of Operations (COOP) program and as required, take action as directed by the COR or higher government authority to implement defined elements of the COOP. Under COOP scenarios, the GSCC Supervisor will serve as the interface between the SOC and MDA Senior Leadership • Supervise the coordination of SOC emergency response procedures within MDA HQ to include effective utilization and dispatch of available SOC resources. • Ability to develop and maintain knowledge and proficiency of the physical security console and related equipment/hardware (CCTV monitors, time-lapse video recorders, entry point alarms, intercom system, and mobile radio base station). • Develop and present training to ensure GSCC personnel are familiar with and capable of performing emergency actions, security control center operations, and utilizing developed checklists and associated communications equipment. • Perform additional supervisor duties to include: monitor intrusion detection system; respond, assess and reset alarms; monitor CCTV; monitor and control vehicle access; CPR/AED and First Aid certified; after hour security support services; and perform the duties of security officers when necessary. • Assume on-call duty as assigned, responding to security needs and reporting to duty as necessary. • Other assigned tasks as required.
Position Requirements: • Significant operational knowledge of security guard force operations, physical security measures, command, control, and communications centers, and Integrated Electronic Security Systems (IESS) • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree • Minimum 10 years general security/operational experience • Military Experience preferred • This is a Key Essential position. The applicant must be willing to work their assigned post during inclement weather and/or elevated Force Protection Conditions. • The applicant must successfully complete a 90-day probationary period. • May be required to work outside scheduled hours to ensure consistent coverage, attend training classes, meetings and other activities to meet operational requirements. • Security Requirements: U.S. Citizenship, and the ability to maintain a security clearance up to the Top Secret level.
Requires Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and seven to nine years of related experience and ability to obtain a security clearance. Knowledge of DOD, DOE, or other industrial security program and in-depth knowledge of the DOD, DOE, or other government security regulatory manuals.
