Leads the development and maintenance of U.S. National and International Voluntary Consensus Standards for rad/nuclear detection systems, and the development, publication, and maintenance of Government-Unique Technical Capability Standards for rad/nuclear detection systems and non-intrusive imaging systems.
Assist DNDO in the conformity assessment programs to assess the extent to which rad/nuclear detection systems conform to specified standards.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Bachelor's Degree and 20 years of experience/Master's Degree and 16 Years of experience.
Must be able to obtain DHS Fitness Determination
Expert knowledge in the sciences and technologies that are relevant to nuclear detection technologies which may include nuclear chemistry, nuclear physics, nuclear engineering, radiation science, health physics, nuclear weapons, and systems engineering.
Experience leading nuclear-related research and development programs, projects, and activities.
Experience in the rad/nuclear detection system standard community composed of the Federal government, national laboratories, industry, academia, and non-governmental standards bodies.
Superior ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff members and managers throughout the agency and outside the agency, to gain their support for program planning and coordination activities.
