The OPIR Scientist will provide product enhancement and subject matter expertise to support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. The candidate shall support the evaluation and reporting of OPIR-related data from new sensors, data that is problematic, or data that is unusual. This shall include the investigation of new data sources, anomalies, artifacts, and unusual phenomena reported by analysts that may identify potential sensor issues, new applications, processing problems, or new phenomenology. Candidates must be able to work independently and have effective oral and written communication skills.
* Conduct research independently and collaboration with Government and contractor personnel at NASIC and throughout the intelligence community * Perform algorithm R&D for intelligence related remote sensing * Analyze data in the application of remote sensing technology to solve intelligence issues * Utilize MATLAB and other similar platforms in support of developmental efforts * Perform T&E and validation/verification to include experimental design and execution * Prepare and present briefings and update internal report tracking metrics for analysis * Update and maintain existing OPIR continuity documents provided by the government * Work independently and in a team environment * Serve as subject matter expert to senior Government and contractor personnel
* Ability to use MATLAB or C++, Palette, ArcGIS and SOCET GXP * Demonstrated experience in remote sensing, algorithm development, sensor phenomenology and/or a related discipline * Ability to work independently and in a team environment * Strong technical writing and briefing skills * Masters degree in engineering, science or mathematics with 10-15 years scientific or engineering experience
