Title: Data Automation Engineer

Duration: 18 Months, Potential to extend
Must Haves
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Ability to obtain DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) Suitability
• 5+ years of experience in automation engineering, data engineering, or software development
• Strong programming skills in Python, including data manipulation libraries
• Experience developing data pipelines and ETL processes
• Knowledge of automation frameworks and orchestration tools
• Experience with APIs and system integration technologies
• Understanding of database systems and data modeling concepts
• Experience using version control systems (Git) and CI/CD practices
• Ability to translate operational or business requirements into automated solutions
Plusses
• Experience with malware analysis automation or cybersecurity tools
• Knowledge of AI/ML pipelines, data preparation, and feature engineering
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Prefect
• Background in cybersecurity, incident response, or threat intelligence automation
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of streaming data platforms (Kafka, Kinesis)
• Familiarity with big data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop
• Experience supporting federal cybersecurity programs
• DoD 8140 IAT Level III , CSSLP
Day to Day Responsibilities
Insight Global is currently seeking a Data Automation Engineer to join a client in the federal cybersecurity and government services industry supporting incident response and technology integration missions. This individual will design and develop automated data pipelines and workflows that enable scalable analysis and system integration across pilot and production environments. Daily responsibilities include building automation for malware sample collection, detonation, taxonomy, and automated malware analysis platforms. The engineer will develop scripts, APIs, and orchestration solutions to eliminate manual processes and improve operational efficiency. This role supports AI/ML data preparation, feature engineering, and data normalization while ensuring data quality and integrity. The engineer will collaborate closely with analysts and technical teams to identify automation opportunities and optimize performance. Additionally, this individual will document automation solutions, maintain code repositories, and support continuous improvement of automated capabilities.
